Homoeopathy is complete system of medicine

Citing the advantages of homoeopathy over allopathic treatment for thyroid and other hormone-related problems, Dr Bandish D Ambani from Mumbai said that over 80 percent of patients depending exclusively on homoeopathic treatment stand a chance of being completely cured in a year's time. Dr Ambani cited the holistic approach of homoeopathic system of medicine.

Indians are genetically predisposed to have more thyroid problems. The treatment helps stimulate the body's glands to produce hormones. Hormonal problems like thyroid are increase at fast pace due to changes in lifestyle and dietary habits.

According to Dr Ambani, the problems are rising rapidly among the younger population, which is a cause of concern. Related problems like hormonal imbalance and polycystic ovaries disorder are other linked lifestyle diseases. Stress too plays a part in furtherance of these disorders.

Advocating exclusive homoeopathic treatment for thyroid, Ambani said patients should ideally not mix homoeopathic treatment with allopathic medicines to achieve the desired results. However the patient already on allopathic treatment is advised not to immediately stop it but continue in combination with homoeopathic drugs. When the effect of the allopathic medicines is gradually tapered off, the patient is moved solely to homoeopathy.

It is high time, homoeopathy is accepted as a complete system of medicine. Homoeopathic physicians should stop prescribing allopathic medicines, that is the first step to earn respect for the system to which they belong.
